"Based On"

Any source of story can be turned into a movie. There are so many books that have been written that have later been turned into movies. As we've seen with the video game "Hitman", this was plainly a video game, which has been turned into a movie. Many short story's have potential to become a movie. Anyone can take a script, and adapt it to become moving picture. But can this be the opposite, can someone take a movie and turn it into a book? I don't think its possible at all. people will have already seen the movie, and will not bother with the book. I know what you re thinking though, why do people who have read the book first still want to see the movie based on the book. The answer is because they want to see how the movie plays out, based on the books story. Personally i think the book is always better than the movie because they leave out so much from the book for the sake of time, and especially money. I do enjoy viewing the movie based on the book though.

  1. I agree that books are better than the movies 99% of the time (usually the other 1% is because of some bad reading experience that I had, or if I saw the movie first). But I do think it's funny that people can turn literally anything into a movie. Even video games, which wouldn't seem adaptable to the big screen at all, make pretty good movies.

  2. I completely agree with this. When a movie is made from the book they are obligated to leave out important information, except if it's a literal translation, similar to the BBC version of Great Expectations orginally written by Charles Dickens. But on the contrary, it's awful when big details are left out, like when Don Quixote was tried being made into a movie it failed, the book is just to big for details to be left out.
